Best dock surface replacement material ?

My dock currently has some type of plywood (regular 4x8 sheets) but the two outermost layers (top and bottom) look kinda like pegboard - without the holes - and you can't see any wood grain. I've never seen this stuff anywhere else. It has lasted 25 years but is now soft along the edges and is time to replace. What's the best replacement material ? thanks..
