Lowrance Ifinder GPS

I finally got my Ifinder Expedition C. It looks great, good sized screen for handheld and the color looks great. I do have a couple of questions for those Ifinder gurus.

1) Are all the Ifinders hard to see when the backlight is not on? I have to constantly have the backlight on in order to see what's on the screen. It's great when the backlight is on but otherwise I can't see anything. I tried adjusting the contrast and brightness but it really doesn't do much. Is this how it is or do I have a faulty unit?

2) I'd like to get the headphone adapter but where does this go? I can't really find where an adapter would be placed.

That is it for now but I am sure I will have many more as I get used the unit.

Mine not color but it is hard to see without the back light. HTB

The backlight does help. Nice thing for me is when it is pluged in, the backlight stays on all the time.

I have both the iFinder H2O and H2Oc and found that the color models is essentially impossible to read without the light. The black and white was much easier to see without the light. I think it's related to the color display film used. Your unit is not malfunctioning.
