Lets not forget mother natures own
controls on the pesky bugs. Put up
a purple martin house or two. There is
also a huge benifit to those bat nests
as well. They eat like twice their own
weight in a couple of days. Thats a lot
of skeets!!

You can also check out the Buzz Off suits at:

It's very handy for those short trips out in the yard when you don't want to douse yourself in bug spray.

I use it all the time now for dog training sessions.

Very handy

Tumbleweed, its a myth promoted by the sellers of martin bird houses that they eat lots of mosquitoes. Martins feed high in the air during the day while mosquitoes come out at night close to the ground. Not badmouthing martins, I have 3 houses and 44 nesting pairs of martins, just correcting a myth. Bats and bat houses would be a far better bet at mosquito control.

Jay the Mosquito Buster would be sweet attached to my dock. Looks like its mounted on its own section of dock, does that come with the Buster?

Leila's been using the Buzz Off jacket while working in the garden when the skeeters are out and just loves it.

hawkeye43, I have a pair of FieldMaster Much Boots and they're the most comfortable footwear I own. They fit like a glove with absolutely no foot slop yet slide on and off your feet easily. Light weight and your foot is in a cushion of CR flex-foam.
Normally it doesn't take much pressure on the outside of my feet till they start to ache so I was leery at first about the glove fit but no worries there.
Mine are rated to -20 and they do make a Adult Arctic Sport thats rated to -40.
100% waterproof too. I'm looking forward to that slushy ice this winter.

Here's a tip that was given at a recent gardening forum. Put some water in a white dinner plate and add a couple drops of Lemon Fresh Joy dish detergent. Set the dish on your porch, patio, or other outdoor area. Not sure what attracts them, the lemon smell, the white plate color, or what, but mosquitoes flock to it, and drop dead shortly after drinking the Lemon Fresh Joy/water mixture, and usually within about 10 feet of the plate. Check this out---it works just super! May seem trivial, but it may help control mosquitoes around your home, especially in the South and elsewhere where the West Nile virus is reaching epidemic proportions in mosquitoes, birds, and humans.

    • My kid was eating in Beverly Hills and ran into this guy. Talked to him a bit and wished him luck in the game tonight.
    • 🤔as a recovering machinist!🤣🤣that must make me a recovering welder!
    • As a recovering machinist, I can appreciate that.  If the spec is 0.001 - 0.0015, then clearly the correct measurement is 0.00125, duh…
    • I just figured that it is easy enough to just get a 3 bank so when the boat is not in use I can keep all 3 batteries charged. I have not bough a charger yet, maybe I will give it some more thought. Edit: After thinking this over, with the size, weight, and heat output of the charger (as well as the cost) I think it makes sense to just buy a 2 bank charger, I have a smaller charger i can use on the starting battery when the boat is sitting at home. Forgive me, for i am a retired engineer and I have to obsess over everything...
    • Congrats on the motor!  I think you’ll like it.   I can’t say much on the charger location but I’ve seen them under the lid in back compartments and under center rod lockers.  160 degrees is more than I expected to hear.   Curious why you’re opting for a 3 bank charger with a 24V trolling motor.  Unless you don’t feel you be running you big motor enough to keep that battery up as well?
    • I did buy an Minnkota Ulterra, thanks for the recommendations. I had a bunch of Cabela"s bucks saved up, which helped. Now i need to get an onboard battery charger. Where do you guys mount these things in your boat? The manufacturer I am looking at {Noco genius) says tht their 3-bank charger will run at 160 degrees, seems like a lot of heat in an enclosed compartment? Thanks for any input on this.
    • You're very lucky a troop of Sea Monkey's didn't carry you away.
    • Wasn't terrible at a state park beach. Antelope island maybe.  I wouldn't recommend it as a beach destination tho.  Figured I was there, I'm getting in it.
