Bullheads....

When there is high numbers of bullheads in certain waters you will find that they loosley form schools. So when you get ito them you chances are you are gonna get as many as you want. As far as locating them, that can be a real hit and miss type thing. Before I started to use them for bait and went lake fishing it seemed like they were everywhere all the time, but now that I NEED them they can sometimes be hard to find. One spot might produce day after day then they just disapear all together. You just have to keep moving locations untill you find some.

Fishing for them - If the bottom is sandy or mud I like to fish with a good size bare jighead and a small hunk of night crawler. If there is alot of weeds or rocks I will use a slip bobber to adjust it so the jighead is hanging right above the cover. I use an ultra light rod with 4lb test. If you are fishing on the bottom keep a close eye on your slack line and any movement set the hook otherwise they will swallow it. Using a fairly large SHARP jig head will help with unhooking them alot easier and will cut down on them swallowing it. They have pretty large mouths so you dont have to worry too much about them not being able to take it.

I pinch the barb down on the hook as well to help with unhooking them.
