Business loan

The wife has an opportunity to buy an existing bussiness and was wondering if any of you know where to start in searching for governement grants/aids/small business loans.

any help would be appreciated.

Start with your local bank as most of them will do SBA loans, or you can try a search for their HSOforum. Gives you decent information but then gives you links to banks for applications. Be ready with all of your information (finacial, work history, business plan, 3 yr P & Ls of the business, copy of lease, etc. They will want at least 20% dwon of the purchase price of the business. Just went through this to buy a sports bar about 6 months ago so good luck.

Her sister works/runs the bar and the owner wants to sell to her. My wife runs a bar/restuarant in town, so they want to buy it together.
