starting this weekend, i will be out almost everyday for the next month and a half. I spend the first couple weeks on the WI brule, and then move over to the lower north shore and work my way up with the run.

Hey Quick-

Am I correct in hearing that the early season is catch and release only? I just got a map of the entire Brule which has a ton of holes marked on it. Is this pretty much all fly fishing, or is one able to to use a spinning rod? Hoping to pop my Brule cherry this spring.

Nate, give me a call (porter has my #) or email me at [email protected] and I'll get you out there. I would say that half the guys i see on the brule are fishing hardware or drifting bait with spinning gear and they do well. The season that opens on saturday is different then WI's early C@R season. You are allowed one steelhead 26 in or bigger, although I encourage C@R because the Brule is a recovering fishery that gets pounded every year, those wintered over fish aren't great for the table anyways.

Just remember that you'll owe me a couple hot bites during league this year! wink.gif
