CB or two-way radio

MedicDan

Question

Ok, for fishing, what what be better, without needing a callsign, a CB radio with 7 watts, or a two way radio with 5 watts of power. I know there is more interference with CB's but is it better, then with them, if you have a base one back at the cabin, and a mobile one out on the lake, for saftey purposes on a lake, when you have no cell phone reception, or is the handheld-handheld two way radio deal the best, but I do realize there is a shorter range, just need some opinions on it. confused.gif

I would go with the hand held sports radios, hands down. Get the units with the GMRS frequencies.

We use a handheld as a base unit too. They have decent range out on the water. In the trees or in a building, your range will be considerably less.
