Got my H2Oc plus from Jolly Ann Marine a few days ago. Was very impressed with Wade and his knowledge of what was available. As far as the unit goes I agree that the backlight needs to be on for most viewing. In direct sunlight at the right angle the screen is readable without backlighting. My card reader would not install and after trying it on three different computers it was no longer being recognized as the last computer running XP stated there was a malfunction in the device. Lowrance sent me a new one within a week. There were no clear directions when the memory card can be put into the reader - I only install the memory card after the reader is recognized on the computer. My home address POI in shows up on the wrong side of the railroad tracks and west of the intersection that I am east of. I ordered a Lakemaster Pro Map chip from Lowrance when they stated it was the new chip, but it was the old 05 one – sent it back. The DNR / Sportsman Maps are good enough for now and wish/wonder if/ they could be imported as they show Public Access Locations. Is there a way to show Public Accesses in Map Create 6? Does a waypoint list of all public accesses exist? That said I am pleased with the ease of operation and handling of map and waypoint information. The ability to enter an address and get its general location makes this a tool for work. This pocket-based system has more info then my old Lap-top & GPS combo.
