Hmmmmm. No box for "Camera".

Plan to let Jr. do the shotgun thing, while I hunt with the camera. Screwed up by not capturing more of last year's hunt on the video camera, so I've got a mission.

Videotaping is fun too, but I only have limited experience with it. We're going to try and capture a few hunts on film this year as well. Let us know any tips/tricks you run into, as I know it isn't as easy as it appears. Good luck to you and Jr., hopefully you give the rest of us a chance in the turkey photo contest this year.

would use gun if dum/dum here would of remembered to apply for permit. i hate that when that happens

Just a reminder that the archery tags are over the counter now, for the last two seasons, in any permit area with more than 50 permits available per time period.

So even if you forgot to apply, even if you applied and were unsuccessful, even if you fail to get a surplus permit; if you're willing to chase them with stick and string, you can buy a permit over the counter.

For the archery tags, does anybody know if you have to specify a single area, or can 1 license be used in all zones open for archery hunting?

First off, welcome to the turkey forum! Glad to have you.

This is a good question that I'd like the answer to as well. I'll be trying to hunt down something for you!

--Update #1 - tried an ELS agent, and they said they wouldn't know for sure unless they tried running it on their system. Strike one. Will be talking to the DNR about it next. Stay tuned.

--Update #2 - Called the DNR main office, and you DO need to specify a permit area when you purchase your license. I'll be posting this information in a seperate thread.

Thanks for the info on being able to buy an archery tag if not drawn. Getting excited for spring now. Even though it will be the middle of May and the misquitos will be out in full force. By the way, for those of us that can use them, crossbows were left off the list.
