Trailblazin
I need to replace my current 11 1/2 X 13 Michigan Match Prop as it is slightly damaged. I am looking into the Hustler and Vortex props. Looks as though the cost savings will be tremendous with either prop if I bust another?Any recommendations or advice/Pro's/Con's....Which one will actually be a better performer? 0 Trailblazin
Keep em coming....I have heard of Problems w/ Hustler's.BTW - The new Vortex by Michigan wheel is essentially a hub system like Hustler and the replacement blades are only $40-50. 0 Pharcta2
I've been using the Hustler prop system since last spring - and LOVE it. $55.00 gets you a new prop, once you have the proprietary hub system. At that price, I have bought several props. Different pitches for different things, whether I'm fishing, pulling skiers/tubers, or just racing across the water. Your mileage may vary, but anytime I can get a new prop for that price, its a good thing! (or maybe I just hit more rocks than the average bear!) 0 klbowe
My boat came with a Hustler prop and I had a problem where if I backed off the throttle at med to high speeds it would make a loud squeeling noise. I made several trips to the dealer and tried differnt pitch props as well as 2 new hubs and they could not fix the noise. It also had a strong vibration at lower RPM,s. The dealer said they have not seen this before and my fix was to replace the prop with a standard one piece prop. I know there are many people who use the hustler props who have no problems and I am sure we will hear from them. But I had no luck with them at all and a dealer with no fix for me.
