Yamaha F8

Question

I have an F8 that goes on my river boat(12 ft) that also doubles as a kicker on the 18 ft boat I have, what is the big difference in the F8 to th high thrust T8 that everyone gets as a kicker?. Also, do you think I should change props when I change from one boat to another?.

Thanks

I believe the T8 has a larger lower unit (ie- larger gears), and a corresponding larger, flatter prop giving it the higher thrust. So just switching a prop would not make your motor a T8.

In regard to props... it's kind of a tossup... you could change to a flatter (lower pitch) prop to get you more pushing power... it all depends on how happy you are with the way it is currenlty set up.
