I acquired a boat lift with the house I bought last fall. I did not think much about it as it looked like the typical boat lift. I plugged it in and it hummed so I have decided to pull it from the water and rebuild it. Remember I am in Indiana and we now have open water. Today, I pulled the electric wench made by Fulton off the frame and as I let the cable go, the cradle of the lift slowly sunk and slid out towards deeper water like a sled. As I pulled the cable up, the cradle slid up at an angle until the bunks of the lift were just above the water. Does anyone have this type of lift? I thought it was simply a vertical lift but no. The lift is rated for 5000 pounds and my 1660 pro v is at 1500 pounds so I think I will be ok once I get the wench rebuilt. I would appreciate hearing from anyone with this type of lift as to its performance and ability. Thanks for the info!
Wasn't terrible at a state park beach. Antelope island maybe. I wouldn't recommend it as a beach destination tho. Figured I was there, I'm getting in it.
The water looked and smelled disgusting with hundreds of thousands of birds sh*tting in there. About as gross as the Salton Sea. When I duck hunted there I didn't even want to touch the water.
It's kinda gross with the algae in the summer but I got in it anyway. Wanted to see the increased bouyancy at work. You can kinda tuck yourself into a ball and you'll just float with your head above water. When dry off you look diamond encrusted with the salt.
We went to the flats too. I dipped a tire on the rental car onto it just to say I’ve been there, but it was still pretty soft from winter melt. After seeing some moron in a BMW suv get dragged out of the muck I had no intention of repeating his stupidity.
