hey Dudes,

Hey I wonder if there are any Leech Lake pros outthere or

spend all lot of time out there fishing. Because I'm thinking about coming up there and doing some muskie fishing

especially the Walker and Kabekona area. I was just looking

for some advece and few spots to try or lures.

Leech lake..find water, cast.

Walker bay look to the nice breaks and cabbage lines along shore and the sunken humps out in the middle of Walker Bay, they all hold fish. Check out the Lake Master maps in the one foot depth lines, I look for a 5-6 foot flat coming off of shore that breaks sharp into deep water( most of the bay).

As far as lures you cannot go wrong with the classic bucktail in a yellow / purple or black with a silver blade. Leech fish are also crazy about topwater no matter what coniditions may be that day.

I am also going to be fishing Leech next week. I am staying in the Partridge point area. Are ther any good spots in that area? I have heard that there are good spots near Federal dam, but could sombody be more specific about that?

Thanks

In walker bay use natural colors and on the main lake and Kabekona use brighter colors. Most of the time it doesn't mater what you throw, finding the fish is the tough part. When you find fish, don't leave them, just my opinion..

troll grandmas over and around the humps in Walker Bay.

If your boat is big enough fish the rocks on the main lake around Pelican.

Look for cabbage in Sucker Bay and Portage bay, Big Hardwoords, little hardwoods down that shoreline, sometimes they are in the junk weeds too.

If you are having trouble finding fish and you have been fishing weeds, go back and fish the same spots again with a jackpot or another WTD bait.

The walleye fishing should be good. Leech is a tough Musky Lake in June and Early July.
