Hey Guys,

For the past 4 years my family and I have had access to a cabin on the Cass Lake chain. We go up there at least every other weekend in the open water season and for atleast a 2 weeks stay in August. Well tonight my other half told me for the two weeks in August she doesnt want to do the Cass Lake thang. She wants to put another area on her fishing resume'. THe area has to have the toothy fish such as muskies. northerns and walleyes, but yet it has to have the usual biting panfish. bass etc for the kiddos. I was think about the " Big V" or LOTW or Brainerd area for starters havent given it much thought yet. She has Mille Lacs, Winnie,Leech and Upper Red on her resume' so far. So any ideals or suggestions are highly appreciated. Thanx

Have to put my 2 cents in for Lake Vermilion. Big V is a great multi species fishery. The Muskie fishing has become one of the top game fish for this lake, as well as being a great walleye and smallmouth lake. Sunnies are always plentiful, and a lot of fun to catch. Give us a look at Spring Bay Resort.

Vermillion and/or LOTW are both good choices but my vote would be for Winnibigoshish.

Winnie offers good walleye and perch fishing along with Muskie hunting. Cut Foot Sioux is good for walleye, perch, muskie, crappie, sunnies and northern. PLUS there are numerous other lakes in the areas that you can try. I would HQ out of Bowens Lodge and be mobile.

I would agree all of those places are nice, But I would recommend Crosslake area. It is on the Whitefish chain, giving you all of the species of fish you will be looking for. And another great thing is there are plenty of bays to fish if it gets too windy! Plus lots of attraction's in the area to go see if you need to!
