Timmyman
I'm looking for someone to look at an old Hiawatha outboard. I'm guessing it's a 40 to 50 years old 5 horse. I've had it running, but not for long, and with little power. I live in Alexandria, MN any help would be appreciated.
0 IFallsRon
I'd bet that Bruce's Outboard in Sauk Rapids would be able to fix it. (320-253-9273.
0 Paul Rohweller
Ahhh my first outboard. Is it red?not too much to go goofy with them. Check the compression,(100 lbs or better is good) clean the fuel tank and carb, make sure the float is functional. Clean and set the points. Those were a fast motor for a 5 hp but never ever trolled worth a hoot so dont expect too much out of it. Man I was 8 years old or so and I had one on a 12 foot aluminum car topper, seemed like I could go 100 mph compared to rowing the old ole lind..The good old days..Paul------------------Paul RohwellerPine to Prairie Guide Service218-962-3387 home701-261-9525 cell[email protected]N.P.A.A. 425Quality Bait and Tackle, Detroit Lakes Mnwww.scenictackle.comNorth Country Outdoors Radio 99.3 fm http://fishingminnesota.com/pinetoprairie[This message has been edited by Paul Rohweller (edited 05-25-2004).]
