Outdoors_guy
Going to PV next winter for my honeymoon and would like to find some cheaper deals on charter boats. I would like to get out one day of bill fishing with the wife, but don't want to pay an arm and a leg. Hopefully she is up for it because it has always been a dream to try and catch a Marlin. Any info would be great.
traveler
Outdooyguy, I'm afraid you might need to either adjust your honeymoon or your dream! Winter and PV aren't a real good combo for your first marlin. And you might want to rethink the cheap boat. Remember, you'll likely be a loooog way out in the ocean, and a cheap boat just doen't have a very good ring to it, does it? I've fished on some real good boats, and only a couple cheap ones, and they were a while ago. Save up the extra dough. Your odds go WAY up with a good boat and crew. Take a look at Cabo San Lucas if you need to go in the winter, really solid striped marlin fishing Dec thru Feb., it's also a great honeymoon spot. Or PV in Aug thru dec, although it's still not all that hot a destination for marlin. Not to say you can't get lucky on a cheap boat during slow season, but this saltwater stuff is tough enough, you really want to maximize your chances whenever possible. Good luck, and congrats
Outdoors_guy
Thanks for the info. I am new to salt water fishing so i don't know anything about it or when the fish bite. I might just have to get lucky then and maybe hook a marlin or maybe even a sailfish would be cool or a Giant Tuna.
