Clam 2000 vs Clam 5600

If you are planning on fishing with two people and spending a lot of time in it you may want to go with the 5600. For the extra $100 you get more room. The center heigh on the 5600 is 6'6" (most people could stand up in that) where as the center height for the 2000 is only 58" (that is 4'10") and not many people could stand up in that. The other benefit to the 5600 is having four holes. If you are fishing two people you can sit staggered and definately won't feel crapmed. I have fished out of both and I own a 5600 and felt it was well worth the extra $$$.

If you are going to be taking kids... Got with the 5600 .. the full floor makes a difference ...keeps the kids drier !!! my boys love to sit right next to the hole on the ice and he lasts a little longer when he is not sitting on the snow !!! just my 2 cents !! I have fit 3 in there but it is a great 2 man !!!

You'll be glad with the extra room the 5600 has. I like to stand up once in a while without ducking down or hitting my head. That's one of the reasons I got the 5600.

Luckily I have a 4 wheeler ...I just throw the rope over the hitch and off I go !! I did drag it for a few years and did not do anything to it ... It has been awhile but it did seems to float over the snow pretty well !!

I'm not going to reccomend one or the other, but rather throw out a couple extra things to consider. How will you be transporting the shack? I mention this because the 2000 is smaller and lighter. If you are using a car to transport then the 5600 may not fit well. Just something to think about. Also, how will you move the shack on ice? I can tell you from experience, the 2000 is MUCH easier to pull by hand. Neither one are really great but the 2000 is a lot lighter pulling. A tub style would be the best at pulling but they also take up more room to haul. I think the 5600 is a bit sturdier and obviously bigger so you'll have more fishing room. You'll have to take all of these things into consideration before you purchase. Good luck.
