polaris 500 ho question

i have recently had a new battery installed (2weeks ago)and have it being drained. My electrical friends tried to see if the leads to the battery are getting any volts that are keeping it charged. I called a dealer and they mentioned that a regulator/rectifier has gone bad probably. They said it is often that this happens. Has anyone experienced this or am I just missing something......help

What voltage are you getting at the battery when the machine is running?
