Poles and frame bracket different on newer Otter portables?

Whoaru99

Question

I've got a two or three year old Otter Lodge and it's been a good house. But, I have had some problems with pinching the fabric where the poles attach to the frame brackets.

Newer models I looked at just the other day have different frame brackets and a different lower pole with a bend in it.

It looks like this different bracket and pole may improve how the unit folds up.

Anyone have experiece with this as to whether or not it would be a worthwhile "upgrade"?

BTW-Mine does have the square poles...

If the unit is 3 years old, you have the first year of the aluminum square tube frame. There was a lot of issues with some of the frames being too tight to slide properly. They have revised the sled bracket last year and added plastic caps on the ends of the slider tubes to make them work better. Contact Otter about replacment parts.
