Garmin 240 problem

The unit works fine in open water, but as soon as I go over a spot where the weeds get close to suface the screen starts to flash. Sometimes for a second or two, but other times it will flash for thirty seconds or more. I've tried turning down the gain, but that doesn't seem to help.

It may have something to do with your shallow water warning setting. I have the same unit and not had that happen. I suggest you go to Garmin's web site. You can email your ? to them and they will respond. Good luck

Dusty is right. Garmin is Very Good about customer service! I was having trouble with my handheld and they replaced it Free!! Later I found out I was doing something wrong and they had went WAY beyond excellant to help
