Matt Johnson
I've been on a hardcore panfish search the last few days and I've been dropping down a few Structure on a String's (SOS) by LaDredge Outdoors while doing so. To be completely honest, these are the real deal! I'm a firm believer that they've increased my odds at keeping fish in my immediate area, as well as attracting fish to where I'm set up. For guide trips I've been setting up a series of SOS's around the Otter Magnum Lodge. I've been creating my own little weed bed. It takes a little while for the roaming fish to get accustomed to new addition to their environment, but before you know it they're hold tight all day long, which has helped provide me with constant action until the day is done. A great tool for anyone's arsenal and they are effective on panfish, bass, pike, walleye and perch. Here's a couple recent shots from the last few days... A nice batch of crappies and sunfish that fell victim to the SOS Even trophy size sunfish don't know the difference... A monster sunfish sitting next to an 8-inch hole I had one client tell me he couldn't tell the difference between the SOS's and the real weeds when watching the underwater camera. He was amazed at how detailed and life-like they really were. When the time calls for it, these SOS's can really be worth their weight in gold! So, to the people at LaDredge Outdoors, outstanding product!
Corey Bechtold
Great job Matt!!! I also used the SOS on a structureless flat and it really held the fish close when they usually roam the basin. A great tool to take out on the Ice. Thanks LaDredge!!!Corey Bechtold
Rainydaze
Hi Matt, Seems so simple, but we all know finding structure where there isn't any is a bonus. I guess this might make it pretty easy. Like most I might not tell everybody what I'm trying until I've seen the results, but I'm on board for trying this out. Nice fish!
2dalake
Will this product be at any of the Sportsmens Shows?
Matt Johnson
The guys at LaDredge are working hard at getting this product into more stores. Thorne Bros carries them now, so if Thorne Bros is at the show you go to, then you should be able to find them there.More stores will be carrying them in the near future as well... broncosguy711
I picked up the 5 pack for URL, but was cancelled and am now going to Mille Lacs out of Scenic bay. Would it be a good idea to put the SOS down as I think right now they are on the rock piles there? thanks- Broncs
Matt Johnson
I would give it a shot. Rock/weed transition lines can be excellent fish attractants for both perch and walleye. Either way it wouldn't hurt to bring them along just incase. I've used the SOS in conjunction with rock before, so they're not just for featureless flats, they can also be applied to areas that already have "structure." This is where the "spot on the spot" idea comes from. You already have a piece of structure and now you're looking for the "structure on the structure," which is something I often times look for when targeting large bodies of water like Mille Lacs...
