If I remember, youre on the Shimano pro staff or something like that? Im in the market for a new spinning rod, and I really like that 7'2 Crucial drop shot rod. Have you ever tried this rod out? Im looking for a rod between 7' and 7'6. The only ones I found so far are the Crucial, the Loomis senko rod, and the Bronzeback SMR882S-SP rod. I had a chance to try out the senko rod with the new recoil guides and can safely say, Im disappointed. Felt like really, really cheap material for that price. So Im going with the crucial rod. I wont be using it for drop shotting though. I just like the extra 2 inches. Gander and Sportsmans Warehouse dont have any in stock, and I havent had a chance to get out to Cabelas yet. Its main use will be for finesse fishing in ultra clear waters. The rod will be paired up with a Daiwa Luvias 2500 reel and probably 8 lb line. Im curious to see what you have to say about this rod. Thanks in advance Deitz.

Tip- Yep, I'm on the shimano prostaff. And loving every second of it!!! Honestly, I feel gifted every day!\

As for the rod your talking about. I have one!...Its an IM9 graphite and not at all a skimp on quality. I use it for dropshotting and for jig worms. If I had any complaint, its that its a bit too light on the tip. But then again, thats what its designed to be.. it has Plenty of back bone. Make sure you hold one in your hands bufore you buy it. I am very happy with it as a finess rod, I paired it up with a stradic mag. and 6 lb line.

The huge plus for the rod, is that for a 7'2 rod, its very light and very well ballenced. If you plan on using it for jig worms or light crank baits, its an awesome rod!

Thanks for your reply Deitz. The thing is, it wont be used for drop shotting. Ive never tried it before, but plan to next season. Ill probably be throwing senkos, flukes, and really light jigs with it. The length at 7'2 is perfect for me, and I think the split rear grip is awesome. Im goin to Cabela's right now to see if they have one. Thanks again deitz.
