At the ice show I spoke to the Lowrance rep who said that they run the 102 and 33 on the ice all the time. Will fit in the soft pack and run on your battery you will need the ice transducer. The 33 will record the fishing so you can download it and play it back on your pc. He had some printed out shots that did a great job explaining the fish on the bottom and those who struck his lure.It was very cool. I am thinking of the same thing. The new 33 will have the gps antena built in for mobile use. Call Lowrance and I am sure they will help you. Rocket

Dano,

I just returned from my first Mille Lacs trip running my 102C in the icefishing pack and I am thrilled with it. It took about 10 seconds of adjustments and I was looking at more valuable sonar information than you could ever get out of a flasher. You can see a minnow head fall off of your jig in 31 feet and get absolute bottom separation. Most valuable is being able to see what has happened in the past. You can see any slight variation in bottom change (fish) by comparing to the past images and also see exactly how the fish has reacted to your jigging presentations. The screen is also very easy to read, several times I was monkeying with stuff and dead sticking when I saw a fish charging off the bottom to my bait and I would run and grab the rod just in time. I definitely feel that a good graph is better than a flasher for catching fish, there are two areas where the flasher is still better. One is interference and the other is fragility. I had some interference with my buddies Vexilar until I adjusted the sensitivity and ping speed. The interference did not reduce my ability to see fish and bait, but was somewhat annoying. It seems worse than it is because you see the past minute of interference on your screen. As far as fragility, It just seems obvious that a graph screen will be more easily damaged than a recessed flasher. I bought the Lowrance pack and keep my protective cover on when transporting. Unless I run into some new problem, there is no way I will go back to a flasher.

Good, factual, common sense report, EJ, I'm glad this is working out for you. My experiences mirror yours. I think as more people try using their graphs on ice, there will be more people who get the "I can never go back" bug. So far, Lowrance is the only graph maker making it easy to do so, with their ice packs.

Thanks to previous posts by Federline, my Ice Machine is tweaked. Got version 1.6.0 from Tulsa, adjusted settings to similar to those suggested by Feder, and she's bullet proof. One question for Federline...I never noticed this before, but there is a "Manual Operation" (I think that's it) check box on one of the menus (or submenus). Even if you are running in manual mode (automatic sensitivity, depth, ect turned OFF), do I need to check/mark this box for all the manual settings to operate properly? I guess I didn't really notice a change when I checked it.
