Twins finally sign a power hitter!

The 2 time all-star Tony Batista. I saw one of the articles saying power hitter so I got pretty pumped. Turned out it was Tony Batista. Well I have nothing bad to say about the guy and he should fit in fine, but I still dont think that is a solution to 3rd base. Well hopefully he ends his long career here in Minnesota with a bang.

This one has me a little puzzled. Good glove but lacks range. .263 with 27 home runs or something like that in the Japanese League. How does their pitching and ball parks compare to those in the Majors? Twenty seven home runs may be power on the Twins, but league wide that's still below average for a third baseman. Do those numbers translate into anything better than they had at third? Or, is this just a move so Cuddyer can move to the outfield and take Jones place. Don't they still have too many outfielders? Beat me with a stick, but I just don't get this one.

If Tony B. hits 20 home runs, I will be shocked. This guy is on the downward spiral and his open stance isn't going to be what the twins need for offense. He might be an upgrade defensively. THAT isn't saying much considering what we had at third last year.

Very disappointing off season so far. The twins may as well pack up and move if they can't spend any money. It is hard to follow a tight-wad team when all the other teams are opening up the wallet. Take a look at what Toronto has done this winter. Would Terry Ryan ever be allowed to spend like that?

Once again you guys are all over reacting. The twins have never over spent for players and they never will. How can all of you guys complain about who we are signing when year after year its the same. I would think you guys are tired of complaing year after year. At least your not a detroit fan or a cub fan. The cubs spend money all the time and they lose timne and time again. Just cause you spend it does not mean you will win. I for one love that we have a good young pitching staff with no over paid jerks on our staff. No one player on our team is like Manny Ramerez(sp) or Frank Thomas or any other of thoose complaining pain in the butt type players. We will compete for many years to come.

As far as toronto, they will still fininsh third or fourth in their devision and next year they will get rid of half of their salary.

Where going to win twins, where going to pounce.

Knock out a ground rule double whatch that baseball bounce
