Anyone Spearing?

I am going to look around today and see what Forest or Coon has to offer. Has anyone been out? Also how has the water been? I would think most lakes would be pretty clear this year.

I live in the metro area. Still wating for the ice to thicken up a bit more before I put out my permament house. I cant wait for big fork time.

Been out twice and haven't stuck anything yet. Oh well I am still going out tommorow for an all-dayer!! The ice still isn't good down here so I can't to where I want to be. It can only get better!!!!

I've been out only four times so far. Have to get out on the weekends thanks to school. I saw my biggest northern ever on the 3rd. Probably around 37" or so. Came in and hit the minnow and swam around with it for a bit. We just watched it. Very cool. I've only seen 3 other fish besides that one so far this year. Pretty poor it seems. The water also seems to be a little more murky then usual. The fish don't seem to be moving much. Anyone else been out lately? Hopefully I'm wrong and it's just me that's not seeing much.

I was finally able to get to the area that I wanted to be today. There wasprobably 4-6" of ice but slushy in some areas. It was a slow day but better than most lately. I only speared until noon (when I had to work ) and ended up spearing two decent pike.

I was in 6 feet or so of water with a sandy/muddy bottom. I think if I would have been able to find some weeds I may have seena few more, but who knows!!!!! The two that came in seemed to be very aggresive and really liked the "Hot Pink" spoon I had, and nothing came in to the 10" chartruse/red decoy I had.
