jaysonmol
I bought a 68c this summer, I loved in the boat and am looking forward to trying it on the ice. When I was puting the "ice kit" together there is about a foot long "L" shaped rod that attaches the transducer to the plastic "arm" that hangs over the ice hole. What I can't figure out is how to pack it back in the carring case with metal bar attached to the plastic arm. Does any one else have this problem? I noticed at our local sporting goods shop the display model just had the cord of the transducer hanging from the plastic arm, Anyone try this? I'm also wondering if it would be possible to just attach a "vex" float, and not use the plastic arm at all.comments anyone? Thanks for your timeJayson
markkstanley
Throw the rod away. I did. I run the cable like you saw. Run it thru the red screw in first then screw into the plastic arm. I don't pull the arm out over the hole though. I keep my unit a foot or two away from the hole and leave enough cord to throw the transducer down to the bottom of the hole. That way I can pull up the cord and the unit isn't in the way either. You can buy a Vex float at Thorne Bros and use a clothes pin as stopper or even the red screw in that came with your unit. Works fine tht way too. I lost the float I bought and just didn't get around to replacing it.
