I thought I would come in here and talk about those rope lights that soe company putsa out that rus off a 12v battery, well at Marine General last night I saw it retaild for 29.99 and it looked like the same stuff you can get at Menards for $2.99 per 6' rope of lights. For about $1.50 more you can get the mounting hardware too. I'm just letting you guys know that you can save a large sum of money by going to menards and getting a rope light that cost 3 bucks. grin.gif

I bought some of those light s at Menards and when I got home found that they were 110 not 12v.Went back and at the store I went to they did not sell 12v.-just 110.

The only difference I see between them is the fact that the ones from menards has a male plug in. What I saw on the clam light system was that same rope light but just had the plug in cut off and some wire exposed.

I found the lights that we're all looking for.I too have been looking for 12 volt lights since I bought my flip over. Why I didn't think of them till know is beyond me.Go to jc whintey and look under interior lighting. They have two styles in many colors and lenthes. And yes they are 12 volt.prices are from $4.99 to $33.99.Two wires to hook up to the battery.I just bought two 6' lights for $13 a piece. I went one step farther in my car and put a dimmer switch on it so I can set the briteness.Works awesome in the old T.A.
