Ifinder H2O battery life

I am curious what kind of battery life you get with the H2O vs. the H2O C. I want the colored unit, but the guys at Gander said the batteries will not last more than 2 hours. I am hoping they only said that because they do not have any colored units to sell me.

I've been farting around with my H20 C for a couple days now, maybe 3-4 hours total and my battery life is still a bit above 50%. Of course this is inside the house and inside the truck and not outside where the temp is 15 degrees.

I've been keeping the screen lighting on all the time and panning around the state of MN checking lakes out so there is quite a bit of regeneration involved as well.

I believe the manual states 12 hours. I feel that is going to be pretty accurate.

My question is, how do the guys at Gander know it only lasts 2 hours if they don't have any in stock? Not very well informed in my opinion.

I looked on the Lowrance site and they show 12 hrs for both units. I emailed their tech. dept. with the same question and will post their response.

I called and spoke with a Tech. at Lowrance. He said that the 12Hr. time is correct and it's based on average usage without the backlight on.

How do you like the new color unit? Is there much difference from the b/w unit?

Using the backlighting cuts down the battery life significantly! Out in the cold with the backlight on this fall I was getting 3.5-4.5 hrs out of my batteries in the non collor unit.
