Iceman12
I bought a slightly used LX-3 for this year's ice and I have a few questions. First I charge it all the way up and I filled the laundry tub up with water and the charge on teh digital readout goes down to 60% pretty quick, after I shut it off it does go back up but not 100%. Is it time for a new battery or is that normal? Also when I put it in the water in the tub it creates a loud clicking. Is this because it's in such shallow of water and it is bouncing off the hard surface of the tub? Or is something wrong with the transducer? Ray Esboldt
First, yes, you need a new battery. Any of the big battery franchise stores have them for a very reasonable price. Just make sure you match the size you have now. In other words, bring the battery with you. Keep it charged up, and you should be able to get several years out of it.Second, the loud clicking of the transducer is normal. I am sure the laundry tub amplified the sound a bit, but the MarCum transducers do make some noise. Actually, any depth finder's transducer makes some noise.
