GMC Sonoma

Chris-Neises

Question

I just bought a GMC Sonoma and I would like to add on a tonneau cover. I don't think I want a fiberglass one. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a place that carries products like this or recommend/recommend against certain items. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Chris,
I have a ZR-2 and you can get a very nice cover at Minnesota Hitch. Their tonneau covers are some of the best I've seen, but then again I haven't seen a whole lot of different. After it is installed you can actually stand and walk across the top of it without any problems, very strong and reinforced. If you want to e-mail and I can help you out with contact info.

I have an S-10 and have a Lund brand vinyl cover that snaps on to a frame . It is a little hard to snap when it is new unless in the hot sun so it can strectch. the thing I like best is the back frame rail comes off easily and also the 2 bows so you can haul stuff or run a wheel barrow up in the truck with out taking it all off. The cover rolls up and ties by the cap . The thing I dislike is the cross bows move a bit out of position sometimes so I just put some small screws in the tracks to keep them from moving. I take the frame and cover off in the winter to put the fish house in back. I got mine at Fleet Farm .

Chris,

I would recommend a rollup cover from Access. This is the cover I have and it's great. No snap buttons to deal with, or braces to insert. The cover rolls up out of the way when you need to haul something large in the box. I got one because I would leave my portable fish house in the back, and was worried that someone would walk off with it. Now that I got the cover I feel better about leaving stuff in the back. The cover is lockable, so if you have a tailgate lock it's a plus.

I bought mine for $500 out the door about 4 months ago from a Truck Accessory place. I feel that Access has a high quality product with their rollup covers. For $400 I can get you a cover. I live in the northern metro if you'd like to see the cover on my truck.

I have a Roll-N-Lock cover that came with my truck when I bought it. I like it because I made mine so it's easily removable when I want my topper in the fall/winter months.
