Bob_D
Here is the cutting head that is coming standard with the 8" Power Nils Master augers this year. They have been available by special order for a few years now, but they have switched them to the standard for the 8" power units.
Woody Erickson
Bob_D, I assume you have used the new cutting head??? If so, do you personally like it. I have the 4.5", 6" and 8" Nils Master augers, with the Tanaka power head. Pretty sweet . Last March, I connected the 4.5" auger to the power head and cut through the Upper Red Lake ice in about 7 seconds (30 some inches). thanks for any reply,
riverrat56
That thing looks NASTY, I wouldn't have time to fish, I'd be to busy just letting the auger fall through the ice with that bad boy head on it.
Bob_D
Woody,I have not tried it yet. Up until now, I just used the standard blade. This blade is suppose to do the following:1) Allow you to cut holes closer to each other for making livewells, and holes for spearing shacks.2) Stop any "chatter" or "walking" of the blades as they get dull. This will allow you to use the blades for much longer.3)Allow the main blades to be out of harms way if the auger is mishandled and also discourage people from hitting the auger against the ice.I'll let you know what I think as soon as I get some ice. tightlines
I am hoping to get my new Nils Master from FM this coming week.Ordered it on the 16th so would assume it should be this week. I am getting pretty excited about this new auger as I have heard it is by far the best, lightest, and fastest auger out there. WOW, that is one hell of a cutting head.
