Shimano Clarus

Bigfife

Question

I am a newcommer to the site. I was just wondering if anyone has used the Shimano Clarus line of spinning rods. I just bought a 6'6" medium action, but I don't know if it will be the best one. I will be rigging, using bottom bouncers, and bobber fishing for walleyes with it. I might get into some smallmouth fishing this year too. Any suggestions would be nice. Any ideas on what reel I should put on the rod.

What ever you do save the receipt for that rod. It has a limited lifetime warranty and is an over the counter exchange with receipt where ever you purchased it.

Other than that I had one and I used it mainly for pulling spinnerbait and that's about it.

Its a very god rod for the money.. expecially if you think of that warrenty...The best in the buisness...Chev truks is only partially right... you can exchange a broken rod to any Shimano authorised dealer, not just the place you bought it.. thats what is great about that warrenty...

the 6' med might be a tad light for bottom bouncers.. but will be a great rigging rod...It will still work for bottom bouncers, just a stiffer would work a little better...It will be fine for bobber fishing as well.. many people like longer rods for bobber fishing to help take in the slack line, but a 6' rod should be fine... Best of luck with your new rod.
