Pulled the trigger on the LX-3!

Well, I went ahead and did it - just bought an LX-3 from Reed's Sporting Goods online. $279.99 + free shipping!! (last year's model, pre True Color lighting) I did have to pay $19.99 Wisconsin Sales Tax, but oh well. I've been fishing my FL-18 for 2 years now and like it, but I've heard so much about the Marcum, I had to give it a go. I figure, if I love the Marcum, the Vex is going on hsolist - if I prefer my Vex, the Marcum goes back to Reed's! If I keep the Marcum, I may send it in to the company to get the True Color upgrade - $50. I'll still be ahead of paying full retail for a new LX3-TC :-) I'll probably fish it for a year with the original lighting to see how I like it though.

Even with the older model you'll love it. The separation is awesome. I'm still hoping to find a new LX-5 soon. Who knows there actually might be ice shortly after deer hunting.

I did the same thing and just received mine from Reed's. My other unit is an FL-8 so now I can take the LX-3 out wondering with me and my son while my wife and daughter use the FL-8 in the portable (my daughter prefers to use the AquaView camera and torture the pannies)
