Hole covers for permanent house?

I've got holes that are 12"x12". I'd like to replace the wooden hole covers with something else. I've seen the round covers (12") with the square housing for sale & was wondering if anyone has used these? Is a 10" auger OK to use? I was just wondering if that would be good considering that a 10" auger isn't going to cut straight down most of the time, especially when redrilling holes.

I am pretty sure the opening in the square cover is the same as the round. I have the round holes from that company and my 10" works just fine. I also use the auger mate and that works slick!! No more shoveling out your house after augering the holes. So I don't think you would have any problem with it fitting.

The brand name is "Catch Covers" just google the name and you will find pictures and order info. They are the way to go! Tight/clean installation, cuts way down on drafts. Use a five gallon bucket with a goodlip around the outside or buy their inserts. I use a 10" auger and it works just fine.

I have a 10 inch auger with no spike in the middle to keep the bit in one spot. This presents a slight problem if it hops too far off center and starts augering. I sometimes have more of an angle on a hole or two than i would prefer. If you had a 10 inch with a spike ( power point or whatever its called ) in the middle you would be just fine.
