Ice Fishing gear is out!

I was at Gander in Maple Grove last night getting my deer license. The boys were hard at work on the ice fishing department. Most of the stuff was out.

I wanted to give them a big hug. But that would have been weird smile.gif

Reed's in Brainerd says that the houses don't go on display until after the weekend of the 12th. Same plan from the boys at Gene's, my local dealer in Perham.

I'm anxious to sit in a few different models before making the final decision. I think I have it narrowed to either the Otter Medium Cabin, Clam Fish Trap Guide, or Eskimo Quick Flip II. Mostly solo trips but like to have room for a buddy sometimes... fitting it in the back of the wagon and pulling it by hand need to be part of the equation.

If we don't get at least a frost soon, might be some good deals ahead. Pray for ice.

Every store (Scheel's, Gander, Sportsman's and Fleet Farm) here in St.Cloud are feverishly working on getting all the products out.

The new Genz combo's actually look pretty good. I was skeptical at first when I heard about them. The reel isn't anything to die for, but the rod quality seems just like the old Berkley Genz rods.

No word on the new Marcum flashers yet.
