Cooter
I'm curious about the same thing - are they worth fishing for or too few and scattered?
Jim Hudson
In the bay itself, muskies are few and far between. I have heard reports of a few people catching one here and there but nothing more then random rumors. Also, I know there are a few muskies that make their way into the Apostle Islands each year. Probably coming down from the St. Louis following migrating walleyes. One interesting note, I have heard people catching muskies quite regularly in the Bad River. But, you can not access this area by boat and or by land now. The area I have heard people catching them in the river is bordered by Tribal Land where it is off limits to non-members of the Bad River Tribe. A person can fish the Bad River, via boat, accessing it from the mouth. But the area the muskies supposably hold in, is up past a shallow rapids area. So yeah, there are some muskies. But it would probably take you a few years to catch one... There was a musky tourney here back in the early '80s, with a big goose egg for fish boated!!!
