I was out this morning looking over some areas for the upcoming deer opener on Friday and I coudnt beleive the amount of snow geese that have moved in the last couple of days. We covered a 30 mile area west of Devils Lake and we must have seen at least 50,000 birds. The best part was that we saw a lot of ducks also and hardly any hunters. Maybe instead of hunting deer next weekend I will have to put the decoys out one last time. I hope everybody has a safe deer hunting season and ice isnt that far away! GOOD LUCK

Father and I hunter Clark Salyer refuge (westhope) which now holds easily over 100,000 snows. Problem is, its about 5 miles from Canada, and the darn SOB's go far enough north to feed, you don't dare go any more due to not knowing where Canada starts!

Excellent firing line shooting though! Fun, well worth the trip.

Thanks for the update Jeff. You are going to make it to tempting yet if you keep that up. It has been a few years since I have been out there now but that son of mine wants to hunt it all!!!

Here is a link to the US FWS waterfowl reports.

Supposedly over 100K sitting near kenmare ND, and i have hunted j clark on the canadian border near westhope, their site says 25K birds, i know there is more than that...easily 50-75K depending on what stays in USA and what goes into Cananda to feed....anyways...heres the link.

Very useful info.
