(2) 12v's in series and onboard charging

i have (2) 12 volt bats in my boat rigged in series. both are connected to an onboard charger by 2 seperate banks. my ? is, do I have to "disconnect" by batteries (take the cables that link them in series apart) before plugging in the charger, or will they still both charge from both banks even though they are linked in series?? thanks in advance. later.

goose if the charger is a dual bank charger you do not need to un hook the jumper, just plug in and leave it alone
