Last year at this time I had success speedtrolling lilly-tails in 10 fow over semi-green weeds. I have been reading that big lures are the ticket right now (suicks, reef-hawgs, bull-dawgs, etc...). Reading some posts in the last few days, it sounds like the tournament pros were getting them in verying types of situations wind blown points, calm bays and everything in between. I would try to find some green weeds and go from their but I have only boated two skis in my life so take that with a grain of salt.

Good luck to you. Let me know how you do... I'll be hitting it hard fri-sun this weekend. Maybe we'll see ya out there.

Cupper's spot on but I would add casting the inside sand flats and mid lake humps. Muskies are really scattered around this year. Almost any weed line will hold one. Getting one to bite has been the trick. Don't know where you are launching but I would hit the Big Island points, troll Diamond reef. Also hit the big point in Wayzata Bay. On the west end fish the islands Crane, Eagle and Wawatosa (Boy Scout). Troll east side of Smithtown from Pagoda boat house south. Cast the flats on the north side of Hardscrabble Point. Fish all those areas and you should get at least a few follows.

Lillytails and bucktails will still be effective but lean to biggest ones you have. Lillytails are on the small side for this time of year. As for speed anywhere from 2.5 to 5mph. Keep changing it up until you get a strike then stay with that speed. If you do S turns you can tell if the fish want it slower or faster also. And don't be afraid to troll right over the weeds. 25ft back will work. Muskies are not boat shy like walleyes.
