Valv
I was browsing some sites and came up with some aluminum boats made and used on west coast, mainly Oregon and Washington. They are definitely different that ours, the way they are build is really interesting. Anybody knows anything about them ?

Valv
Well I saw an Alumaweld, and a Harbercraft.I am not trying to promote them, I was just looking at the layout and they are very different from ours, some look goofy and some look very interesting. fivebucks
I've fished out of some Alumawelds console boat. The one I was on had a nice open back 3/4 of the boat. It was a good layout for the sturgeon and salmon fishing they do. One nice feature was a spray hose to wash the deck after getting a fish. Non of the boats I saw out there were carpeted, just non-skid aluminum.
Ufatz
VAlv:GEnerally speaking the boats made out there are TOUGH boats, because they are often used in coastal waters. Alumaweld, Valco and others are the real deal-strong, welded boats without any "sissy stuff" on them. The larger Smokercraft, like the Alaskan model are another. I've used Valco and Smokers in SE AK. Tough boats. The Lunds, Crestliners etc.ete are really not a fair comparison against those boats. Unlike MY Crestliner they willl have instruments that actually WORK and the storage compartments will actually stay DRY. HA!If you want a TOUGH boat, take a look at them.
