Pike with eggs

[BIG ISLAND DUDE]

I caught a 4 pound{roughly) northern tonight and I hooked it real bad so I kept it, I usually C&R but she was gut hooked so I figured Id eat her for breakfast. She had a ton of eggs in her. Are these new eggs or are they ones she didnt drop this spring? does anyone know or has anyone else seen this?

Next years eggs are formed very soon after this years spawn was finished. Most fish will show eggs in this manner.
