connecting 36 volt trolling motor???

Just wondering whats the best way to hook up the 3 12 volt batteries to produce the 36 volt needed, this may be a stupid question but i would like to do this correctly, I have a motor guide 107 lbs thrust if that makes any difference?? thanks for your help!!!!

Hook them up positive to negative. Pos of batt one to neg of batt two, pos of batt two to neg of batt three. Take the negative lead from battery one and the positive lead from battery three to the trolling motor but not until you run it through some sort of fuse/circuit breaker. Hope that helps.
