Boat sits up high on trailer

I have a 1700 Fisherman on a Karavan Classic trailer and the front of the boat sits up very high compared to some I've seen on Shorelandr trailers. If I simply move the front roller and winch assemly down the post, will this bring the nose down, or do I need to adjust any of the other rear rollers at all??

Where does the back of your boat end in relation to the rollers?? Ideally you want your transom 4-6 inches from your rollers. If the boat is already ridding at that point, I would say someone sold you a trailer that is too small. If it's right at the rollers, go ahead and move it back 6 inches and see if you are happier with that.

Another concern though is tongue weight. If you move your boat back and your tongue weight is too light, you will not be happy with the way your boat trailers. If your tongue weight is too light you will get sway during towing.

You better do some research before you move your aluminum boat to far forward/or back on the rollers. It is my opinion that the rollers should be right at or within an inch or so of the transom.

I would check it out.

thanks, I believe the back rollers are about inline with the transom, so I might have some room to push the boat back to lower the nose a bit.

OK I stand corrected, just went on the shore lander site and read it is recomended that the transon is in line with the edge of the roller.
