JEV
Alright, I need a little advice.First of all, a guy has to remember the league I'm in is a keeper league. Here's the situation. My running backs are pretty weak. My money player is Payton Manning. I've been offered a trade. The guy wants to trade Brett Favre and Corey Dillon for Manning and one of my reserve running backs. My other starting back is Warrick Dunn. In the past I've found solid running backs are key but I'm having a hard time giving up Manning. Now with the GB receiver core just taking a hit I think Favres numbers might take a hit also. Any thoughts????JEV
Down to Earth
In a redraft league, without seeing the rest of your roster, I would be borderline on accepting this deal, but leaning more towards no. With a keeper league I'd definately stay away from this trade. You will be able to build around Manning for years to come. Favre could be done this year and Manning will probably outlast Dillon as well. Even if you are somewhat weak at RB, there will probably be weeks where Manning alone can carry you to a win. What do the rosters look like and what do you start?
jeffyo45
JEVIn my humble opinion this trade is NO GOOD for you. First point I make to you is Brett Favre and Corey Dillon are elder players at their respective positions. Peyton Manning still has many good years ahead of him and is by far and away the best player at his position and a guaranteed keeper player every year.Second point is the guy is trying to unload Corey Dillon while his value is sky high.Third point is with Javon Walker going down Green Bay's offense only gets worse which is pretty sad considering what they did against the Lions.Fourth point, is the upgrade at RB worth the substantial downgrade at QB. I don't know who your other RB is besides Warrick Dunn so I can't say for sure.Remember, only week 1 is in the books. Peyton Manning can easily carry a team to a championship with decent contributions from other players. I say stand pat for at least a few more weeks and if you're 0-4 then it might be time to hit the panic button. Good luck.
