FL8 Transducer for Open Water Action

After getting an FL8 SLT this year for Ice Fishing, I am also looking at using it on the open water. I am trying to decide between the Transom Mount or the Trolling Motor Mount.

Can I get the Pros and Cons to each and what has been the Most useful for Fishing.

I've had both in the boat. I would say I used the trolling motor unit the most, works great for vertical jigging sometimes!!

Depends on if its your primary sounder. If it the only sonar in the boat you'll need a high speed ducer and the flasher mounted where you can read it when running. Hopefully its the same place you'll be fishing. If its a secondary sounder used only for trolling mount the ducer where you'll be fishing.

This would be my Secondary For Fishing. Want to get the best use out of it.
