Jim Hudson
Bob I had to chance to get some questions answered about running this new 4-Stroke motor. From what I was told, the motor can be run/transported on it's side as it was designed to be allowed for this. On one of the handles for the auger, there are spuds attached and when you set the auger down, it has to be set down on this side per the design of the motor to overcome oil leakage. For cold start up, the motor is designed to be used with StrikeMaster oil or an equivalent low temp oil, this type of oil will leave enough oil on the cylinder walls for when you start the motor after leaving it sit. And the motor was designed to have a life span of 750 to 1,000 hours.
Mr.Bluegill
One thing about the 4 stroke engine, It can only be set down one way or the oil will run out. They even have a warning label on the auger explaining that. I thought it was very top heavy. One thing that confuses me is that they promote these new augers as being better than anything else including augers that they currently have on sale but when they compete in their auger competitions they revert back to the lazer express 8" basic auger. If the new augers are that much better why not use them in competition. I think the new augers are their to catch the fisherman and generate interest with new products wether they work better or not. A good example is the Lazer Ultra 3 blade that had a huge return rate. I will stick with my Nils. Lite, fast, reliable & durable!Troy

PierBridge
Ryan....how in the world could that possibly work with a handle like that......is it a BRP product????
ryan johnson
brp? well the handle is adjustable, and It is suprisingly very comfortable...the auger is a normark witha huskavarna motor. I've owned 3 jiffys and 1 strikemaster and this is by far the lightest quietest most effective auger that i've owned...only downfall is that it cost me about 850 buck canadian... if we had a nils dealer up here, i would have undoubtably bought one...but i guess this is the next best thing. 8" Nils vs. 8" Auger - Click here [Note from admin: to see the Nils Master Auger or Purchase - Click Here FREE Shipping until 11/30/05.
