Can old FL8 be updated to new brighter screen?

I use my old FL8 on my boat. Lately I am having a hard time seeing it in the sun. Do they get dimmer over time? Can they be retrofitted to the new brighter screen?

It isn't so much the screen as it is the bulb that is used in the new FL-8's and FL-18's. Take a gander onto Vexilar's HSOforum and contact their 800 or their corporate phone number---looked it up for you already--- 952-884-5291 .

They'll let you know if they can fix it or not and tell you your problem.

The LX1 would be a great choice. Much easier to read...nice bright display and only $225.

Take orders from the Captain, I would talk to Vex and see what they can do! You might have to bite the bullet, but it pays off in the end
