Duck/Fish combo

Greetings fellow FM's, Myself and my college buddy of many years always do a fall (2nd weekend of duck season) combo trip in northern Mn. We like trying new areas and just was wondering if any of you have any ideas. We fish for walleyes mostly We would like this year to find a lake we can do both at. Thanks for any help. Joe

Well one can't beat Winni for a combo hunt and fish in the same day.

I grew up hunting and fishing that lake, on the North side there is a lot of cover and your not to far away from some of the best areas to pick up a walleye or two.

The third flowage and the Mississippi are both good areas as well.

Ball club lake ,Bowstring,Round,Sand lake all are good as well.

When I use to hunt out of Brownsville (SE MINN) there was a place where you could hunt ducks and fish for walleye at the same time.

We would hunt from a boat blind and cast our lines out in to a deep hole between a couple of points. Never really hit it big on the walleye but you could always pick up 4 or 5 for a full day of hunting.

Nothing better then fresh walleye and duck dinner.
