Shell Lake Muskie Action???

Recommended Posts

I was on Shell Lake Fri 5th. Didn't get on until 9:30. We threw bucktails and cranks in the south bay all day until about 5:00pm. We caught 2 northern..Went and had something to eat then went back out about 6:30pm. Trolled all along the weed lines nothing going. Stopped and threw some top water lures around 7:30 and we did get one follow up to the boat. Looked to be around 40". We worked that area until dark then called it a day. Good Luck!

Haven't fished this year for muskies on Shell, but every year around the opener we catch tons of little northerns and in some areas about half of em got big teeth gashes on them. I'm thinking a northern pike pattern crank would be worth a try - something like the one Salmo makes. Other pattern would be walleye if I had to choose. Probably should be natural as possible in that clearer water.
