JLsTyee
I will be moving into the Worthington area, and I am wondering if there are any Walleye Leagues on Okabena, or the surrounding area.
Anylakeanytime
On a totally non-related topic (I have no idea if there are any leagues on Okabena), but I have friend that just moved to the Worthington area and the first thing I checked for was if there were any lakes in the area that would entice me to make a visit Not sure if that is the way it should work, but oh well. I looked up the netting reports from the DNR and it seems as though this relatively unknown (at least to me) lake has something to offer? Not sure if you have fished it yet, but any reports would be appreciated.
JLsTyee
I have not had a chance to fish the lake, but I have a friend that works for the DNR. He told me that there is a hatching pound next to the lake used for walleye. Earlier this year when they were draining the pound and catching the small walleye through a colvert something happend and 3/4 of the stock was lost into a drainage ditch. This ditch runs about 300 yards directly into Okabena. He didn't give me a number, but from what I understand it is larger than the normal stocking number. Anylakeanytime
Not sure if you are aware of the netting reports, but here is the link for Okabena (if you are interested). http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/lakefind/showreport.html?downum=53002800Below is the walleye report.Netting report for walleyes (2002)Number of fish caught in each category (inches) 0-5(0) 6-8(45) 9-11(4) 12-14(32) 15-19(76) 20-24(9) 25-29(3) >29(0) Total(169) Admittedly, I am not too familiar with netting reports, but if you ask me, this lake looks like a hidden pearl?
